Widest range of efficient motors in UK
expanded
BSL has underpinned its strategy of providing the widest range of energy efficient electric motors ex-stock in the UK by concluding a new agreement with Siemens.
BSL has underpinned its strategy of providing the widest range of energy efficient electric motors ex-stock in the UK by concluding a new agreement with Siemens The deal brings over 1000 EFF1 and EFF2, LV electric motors to BSL's National Distribution Centre (NDC) in Wolverhampton where they are all available ex-stock nationwide
The deal was concluded by Lawrence Jackson, BSL's Managing Director and Hans-Ulrich Schliefer, Managing Director of Siemens Automation and Drives.
Commenting, Mr Jackson said "BSL have a long established relationship with Siemens and share a strong reputation in the marketplace for quality and service.
The new stock enables BSL to satisfy market demand for Siemens energy efficient motors on short lead times.
We see the present demand as a result of the UK government taking measures to reduce electricity usage and industry turning to a dependable, market leading brand and supplier for the solution".
The range of Siemens motors now in stock at BSL's NDC in Wolverhampton includes energy efficient motors with aluminium or cast iron bodies and foot, face and flange mounting units, in 2,4 or 6 pole configurations from 0.12kW to 250kW.
Gary Price, BSL's Business Manager for motors and geardrives commented "The Siemens motors allow our customers to make a choice from a huge range of sizes and configurations and avoid any lead times.
The larger size motors; up to 250kW are rarely kept in stock by any supplier, particularly energy efficient examples.
We will also have an in-house stock modification workshop where motors can be adapted to suit specific requirements, such as the fitting of heaters, thermisters, brakes, force vent fans and tachometers".
The increase in Siemens stock at BSL complements the existing range of Siemens variable speed inverter drives, including the widely used Micro and Midi-master units.
Drives are available off the shelf and as part of complete engineering packages comprising system design, supply and full commissioning, including EMC testing and harmonics compliance.
BSL website offers on-line energy saving calculations for electric motors.
To help with the selection of a new electric motor, an active calculation table is available on BSL's dedicated climate change website to provide a comparison between motor products.
Simple motor specifications and electricity charges can be keyed into the table while on-line.
The yearly energy costs and the savings accrued from running that motor will then be displayed in pounds.
An industrial electric motor can use over 200 times its own value in electricity in its lifetime, providing ample opportunity for savings to be made by selecting the right motor.
Access to a complete range of energy efficient products and services on offer from BSL is available via over 100 BSL local Sales Branches nationwide.
Services include energy efficiency audits, general advice on how to implement changes in plant equipment and working practice, also specialist on-site reports on areas of focus such as compressed air systems.
BSL have appointed twenty-five climate change levy specialists to give advice and technical support for these services across the UK.
These individuals are experienced technical personnel who have been involved in energy saving projects through BSL's policy of value added customer service.
