During Metals Engineering 2001, the British Stainless Steel Association is holding a series of workshops on the theme 'How to Succeed with Stainless Steels'

During Metals Engineering 2001, the British Stainless Steel Association [BSSA] is holding a series of workshops on the theme 'How to Succeed with Stainless Steels'.

The workshops are intended to illustrate the versatility of stainless steel and to assist designers, specifiers and fabricators achieve optimum results from their use of the material.

The free workshops will take place in the Griffin Suite at the NEC Birmingham on Wednesday, 10 October and will run throughout the day.

Participants are invited to come to one or more of the workshops, combining them with other activities at the Metals Engineering 2001 Event.

Each workshop will last 30 minutes, starting on the hour and half-hour, from 9.00 am in the morning until 5.00 pm in the afternoon and will be repeated during the course of the day, to allow delegates the opportunity to choose between morning and afternoon sessions.

The specific topics are:.

* Selecting and Specifying Stainless Steels.

* Protecting Stainless Steels During Forming and Installation.

* Cleaning and Maintenance of Stainless Steels.

* Introduction to Stainless Steel.

* Stainless Steel Fabrication.

* Selecting and Specifying Polished Surface Finishes.

* Electropolishing of Stainless Steels.

* Surface Hardening of Stainless Steel Alloys.

The BSSA represents companies at all stages of the supply chain.

Membership is open to companies and associations with a registered office in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland.
