Guidelines on stainless-steel products
The UK Drinking Water Inspectorate has agreed a new set of operational guidelines and code of practice regarding the use of stainless-steel products in contact with drinking water for public supply.
A wide range of speakers will review the impact of the latest thinking and legislation, and outline how the stainless steel industry can address these issues.
Other speakers will illustrate applications where stainless steel is increasingly used for its sustainable properties.
With its enhanced reputation as an international centre of excellence for advanced metals, of which stainless steel is one of the fastest growing, South Yorkshire is an ideal venue for such a conference.
Delegates will have the unique opportunity to experience "Stainless Steel City" at first hand, as, in addition to the Magna Science Adventure Centre, the one and a half day programme includes optional guided visits to Castings Technology International, the new Sheffield Millennium Galleries and Winter Gardens, and AvestaPolarit's Sheffield production facilities.
The all inclusive fee for the full one and a half day programme, which includes a special conference dinner on the night at the Sheffield Hilton Hotel, visits and tours, is GBP 210 (BSSA members GBP 168).
Competitive hotel accommodation rates have been negotiated with Sheffield city centre hotels, at or within walking distance of the conference dinner venue.
