Ward named as new Director
Nigel Ward, the Group Manager for Market and Trade Political Affairs at Outokumpu Stainless, has been appointed the new Director of the British Stainless Steel Association.

During the last 25 years, Nigel Ward has worked in the stainless industry and has held a number of senior management posts in both sales and marketing for Outokumpu Stainless and its predecessors.
A chemistry graduate from Leeds University, he originally joined British Steel in 1975 as a Graduate Trainee, working in production.
He has been on the ISSF Economics and Statistics Committee, the Euro Inox Marketing Committee, the UK Steel Activities Board and served as a member of the BSSA Council between 2000 and 2003.
He is currently a Director of the Stainless Steel Appeal.
Under Duncan Munro's leadership over the past four years, the association has transformed itself into one of the leading stainless steel market development associations in the world, raising the profile of stainless steel, its environmental properties and its bright future as an advanced metal.
Major successful initiatives have included the launch of the web-based Stainless Steel Advisory Service, the introduction of a series of online CPD presentations for architects and construction professionals and a new stainless steel self-study course.
The BSSA, unique amongst trade associations represents the whole stainless steel sector, from producers, through processors and distributors to end users.
