The essentials of working with stainless steel

A British Stainless Steel Association product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 24, 2007

Workshop will interest everyone involved in fabricating or maintaining products in stainless steel and anyone looking to extend their expertise.

Building on the success of earlier stainless steel fabrication workshops, the next in the series takes place on Tuesday 6th March at Doosan Babcock Energy in Renfrew, Scotland.

Speakers at the one-day event will address the essentials of working with stainless steel.

They will concentrate on practical help, including advice concerning grade selection (particularly the higher grades), fabrication and welding "dos and don'ts" and will also highlight post-fabrication cleaning.

There will also be presentations by expert practitioners from the oil and gas, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and bio-fuel sectors.

The workshop will interest everyone already involved in fabricating or maintaining products in stainless steel, but equally will interest those with little or no experience of working with the material who wish to extend their expertise.

The event is organised by TWI, Outokumpu Stainless and the BSSA and supported by the Association of Welding Distributors and the Scottish Branch of the Welding and Joining Society.

Both The Welding Institute and the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining will accredit the workshop as a CPD event.

Space is limited and previous workshops have been well attended, so early booking is recommended.

The enrolment fee is GBP 75 (including VAT) and also covers lunch and a copy of the workshop handbook.
