Autogard has a range of backlash-free torque limiters and couplings designed specifically for the servo market.

The Series 100 torque limiters feature specially designed roller or ball seats to guarantee total backlash-free transmission of torque in both directions of rotation - making them ideal for speed and direction controlled drives in a closed control loop.

Uniform loading of the rollers and balls ensures the system stiffness and switching frequencies necessary for accurate positioning in modern high-dynamic servo drives.

The design also features special disc springs that guarantee much shorter switching times than other safety couplings and ensure that even ultra-short torque overloads are rendered harmless.

Residual torque is just 5% when disengaged.

The Microflex range of backlash-free couplings is available in metal-bellows and servo-insert versions.

Both provide accurate positioning and low moment of inertia and are supplied ready to install with friction drive cone clamps.

Both are also fully compatible with the Series 100 torque limiter.

Bellows models are suitable for torque's ranging from 0.4 to 5000Nm and are designed to compensate for radial, axial and angular misalignment while reducing imposed bearing loads to a minimum.

They provide high tensional stiffness and offer precise transmission of rotation across the generous misalignment range.

Servo-insert models are suitable for torques ranging from 10 to 525Nm and offer variable tensional stiffness and dampening characteristics.

They are designed to compensate for radial, axial and angular misalignment to ensure smooth operation, even at high motor speeds.

Series 100 torque limiters and Microflex couplings are suitable for a wide range of applications including CNC machinery, robotics, positioning, automation equipment, pick and place machinery etc.
