Autogard has entered into a worldwide strategic alliance designed to expand its product range and market penetration.

Autogard has entered into a worldwide strategic alliance designed to expand its product range and market penetration.

Announcing the alliance, Managing Director Michael Hutchings says the agreement with US high-performance coupling manufacturer FlexElement, allows Autogard to manufacture the US company's products for worldwide distribution.

FlexElement's metal membrane couplings are designed for turbo machinery up to 50,000hp and are acknowledged as the industry standard by OEMs worldwide.

The high-performance range manufactured under licence by Autogard is of smaller diameter and lighter than couplings currently available, and features a waisted, eight-link prestretched membrane design that offers reduced windage, minimum weight and inertia and zero maintenance or lubrication.

The new couplings, which meet the requirements of API 671 3rd Edition, are designed for industrial applications such as compressor, turbine and dynamometer drives, generator sets, main oil line pumps, test rigs and booster and boiler feed pumps.

They will provide a significant boost to Autogard's manufacturing facilities in the UK and enable the company to offer an expanded range of products into markets worldwide.
