Automotive engineering design consultancy Bertrandt UK has again been awarded C3P Compliance (Green (0) Certified) status from Ford, following its re-assessment by the company.

Automotive engineering design consultancy, Bertrandt UK, has again been awarded C3P Compliance (Green (0) Certified) status from Ford, following its re-assessment by the company It is one of only 58 Ford suppliers to have attained the Green (0) status, and one of just a handful to have achieved it at the first attempt

All engineering and commodity service providers to the car company must satisfy the requirements of the C3P standard, which is the most highly regulated supplier standard in the motor industry.

Bertrandt, which has UK offices in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, and Basildon, Essex, is an established supplier to Ford and also holds the car company's Certified Data Service Provider (CDSP) status.

To achieve its C3P accreditation Bertrandt was required to demonstrate its ability to deploy consistently the C3P processes and methodologies as defined by Ford, and to keep in step with these as they evolve over time.

This is the second time that Bertrandt has achieved Green (0) status.

Commenting on the achievement, Michael Collins, Bertrandt's Director of Marketing and Human Resources, said: "Achieving C3P compliance Green (0) status indicates to Ford - and to motor manufacturers in general - that Bertrandt continues to meet and maintain the high standards expected of it with maximum efficiency".

"This achievement also shows that we fully embrace the spirit of trust, co-operation and communication between supplier and client that is associated with C3P implementation".

Ford introduced the C3P standard in 1998 to provide a seamless unification and integration of CAD, CAM, CAE and product information management systems at all stages of design, development and manufacturing.

As the Ford C3P processes evolve, suppliers must respond accordingly and be reassessed approximately every 18 months.

Commenting on Bertrandt's success, Kevin Billington, C3P Adviser Jaguar and Land Rover Global Supplier Integration Team, said: "Gaining and retaining C3P compliance should be seen as recognition of a company's continued commitment and investment in Ford's C3P global strategy".

"Our aim with this certification process is to ensure the supplier is as fully integrated as possible into the C3P tools, methods and processes used.

Bertrandt is to be congratulated on maintaining compliance".
