The Micropulse AT (BTL6) is a magnetostrictive transducer especially designed for injection moulding machines.

The Micropulse AT (BTL6) is a magnetostrictive transducer especially designed for injection moulding machines This solution offers all the advantages of a noncontact system along with significant cost savings potential: as the Micropulse AT is absolutely wear- and maintenance-free, the user is guaranteed extremely long service life with no unproductive and expensive downtimes

And in comparison with a linear potentiometer, the Micropulse AT offers not only higher resolution and repeatability, but also greater mounting flexibility: more generous installation tolerances mean no tedious and time-consuming fine adjustment, and industry-standard mounting elements result in further ease of installation and cost savings.

All transducers are packaged in an IP67 IEC529 hermetically sealed, round extruded housing made of anodised aluminium.

This protects the waveguide from moisture and contamination without the need for special mounting orientation required of potentiometers.

A passive, magnetic position marker indicates the current position along the waveguide, with stroke lengths of between 100 and 1500mm as standard.

With a resolution of 10mm and a repeatability of 20mm, the Micropulse AT exceeds all the requirements for position feedback on injection molding machines.

The same applies to the non-linearity of +/-200 mm over a stroke length of 500mm or +0.04 % FS for strokes greater than 500mm.

The Micropulse AT uses a 24V power supply, and provides an analogue 10V output with increasing or decreasing output curve as well as a digital start/stop interface for noise-free data transmission.

The electrical connections for the processor and power supply are solderless and crimpless, using a shielded cable assembly having an M12 connector.

Additional savings result when the Micropulse AT is operated using two magnets and the stroke length is correspondingly extended.

In this configuration a single transducer can sense multiple motions on the axis of an injection-moulding machine and thereby replace two linear potentiometers.
