Dynamic optical windows are a variation on slot sensors.

are a variation on slot sensors.

Instead of using a single light beam as in a slot sensor, dynamic optical windows use an array of infra-red emitters and receivers.

This arrangement allows objects to be detected not only at a point, but anywhere in an area (window).

A special optical configuration ensures consistently high resolution anywhere in the window.

BOWA sensors are dynamic, meaning parts are only recognized in the active area when they are moving.

The BOWA 0408 has an active area of 40 x 80mm and can detect parts down to 0.8mm.

The BOWA 0808 has an active area of 80 x 80mm with a maximum resolution of 1mm.

The BOWA 1208 has an active area of 120 x 80mm with minimum small parts detection of 1.5mm.
