The ProSet4, the newest member of Balluff's Micropulse family of rod-style cylinder transducers, offers an entirely new option for cylinder position sensing.

The ProSet4's built-in programmable setpoint outputs can be used to detect cylinder end-of-stroke or any position in between.

Designed to be the most versatile cylinder sensor, the ProSet4 provides flexible operation using discrete I/O instead of more costly analogue control inputs.

It installs just like a traditional magnetostrictive displacement transducer in probe-ready steel-walled cylinders and eliminates the need for pressure-rated end-of-stroke sensors or multiple external proximity sensors, brackets, targets, cables, and connection blocks.

The ProSet4 has two easy programming options - local, using a handy programming tool, or remote, using teach-in connections.

Interfacing a ProSet4 with a direct input ramping proportional valve allows simple setup of speed and position ramping profiles, without the need for an additional dedicated axis motion controller.
