Bulgin Components is launching Explora, a range of connectors developed for the oil and gas industries, at Offshore Europe in Aberdeen.
Explora connectors are designed for use in hazardous environments with potentially explosive atmospheres and are independently tested for compliance to Atex standards.
The range is dust and water proof to IP68 and IP69k, offers two to 10 pole contacts rated up to 18A/600V, has a temperature rating of -15 to 85C and is Atex zone two and 22 approved.
Explora has mainly topside applications but is IP68 tested down to 10m.
The series is suited to manufacturers of ancillary electrical equipment such as motors, pumps, lighting equipment, process and control gear.
It is designed for use in on or offshore locations where hazardous or explosive atmospheres can be caused by flammable gases, mists or vapours or by combustible dusts.
