Boring and welding machines are versatile option
Butters AMT has been appointed as Sir Meccanica's exclusive distributor, in the UK and Ireland, for its popular WS range of portable, combined inline boring and welding machines.
Butters AMT has been appointed as Sir Meccanica's exclusive distributor, in the UK and Ireland, for its popular WS range of portable, combined inline boring and welding machines.
In addition to inline boring and welding, the WS machines can also be used for engine overhauls, flange facing, threading, drilling, external machining, tapping, and creating circlip grooves.
This versatility makes the machines ideal for a wide range of machining and welding applications in many sectors including: ship repair, heavy plant and machinery, off-shore oil rigs, refineries, power generation, agricultural, light industrial and automotive.
Bob Burns, Butters AMT's Managing Director, comments: "The machines' portability means they can be taken on-site to the job as opposed to transporting plant and work pieces back to the shop.
This means the end-users, for example someone flange facing a valve on an oil rig or a plant owner refurbishing an excavator, will experience far less down time than would otherwise be the case.
They can also reduce or avoid the need for stand-in equipment, and save on associated labour and transportation costs".
The WS range comprises five main machines, and derivatives thereof, with two of the most popular models being the WS1Plus and WS2.
The WS1Plus can bore and cut blind holes with standard diameters from 37 to 180mm diameter, internally weld bores and blind holes from 37 to 180mm diameter, and externally weld work pieces with outer diameters (ODs) from 10 to 180mm.
As for the WS2, it can bore and cut blind holes with standard diameters from 42 to 400mm diameter, internally weld bores and blind holes from 22 to 400mm diameter, and externally weld work pieces with ODs from 10 to 400mm.
Also, accessory kits are available for all models in the WS range which enable end-users to work with diameters less or greater than standard, affording more flexibility when on-site.
Burns continues: "Sir Meccanica's products are a great complement to our own Butters AMT range of cost-effective welding tools and plasma cutters".
Burns goes on to say that with the name Butters AMT already associated with cost-effective, high-quality tools and second-to-none levels of technical support, users of the Sir Meccanica products based in the UK and Ireland can be assured of a professional service.
"We're delighted to have been appointed as Sir Meccanica's distributor", concludes Burns, as their high-quality, cost-effective tools sit perfectly alongside our own Butters AMT welding and plasma cutting solutions".
