Burkert Fluid Control Systems will be showing its comprehensive range of AS-i devices and cable plug accessories at AS-iTech 2003, including equipment that conforms to the very latest AS-i 2.1 specification.

Many of the components, which include sensors and switches, process valve control heads and actuation systems, will be fitted to a working AS-i display to demonstrate how Burkert can help make the system engineering, installation, commissioning and maintenance simpler for the customer to carry out.

Burkert will also be presenting one of the programme seminars entitled "AS-i in process", which is aimed at promoting the application of AS-i in the process industry.

Burkert's sensors now typically cover process applications in level, pressure and temperature control and, in addition to the AS-i Fieldbus link, outputs can be connected for process value and status; and setpoints can be altered from a remote operator via 4-20mA input.

Also on show are the recently modified DIN-standard AS-i plugs, which now have M12 connection as standard.

These are designed for either low power coil (up to 5W) operation, where the AS-i cable carries both power and data; or high power coil (up to 15W) operation, by adding integrated auxiliary power inputs.
