Ultra slim and ultra quick miniature valve
Slim, fast, precise, robust, cost saving and easy to clean - this is the FSV 6650, the new member of the Burkert valve family, an ultra slim and ultra quick flipper solenoid valve.
With this new miniature valve a new benchmark will be set for both size and performance in clinical, life science, analytic and fluid handling applications.
With this media-separated valve, Burkert offers a fast-switching valve for reproducible and precise dosing of chemically aggressive fluids, in a slim size, never previously available.
With its 4.5mm width, the new valve is a significant step towards miniaturisation, while even outperforming 10 mm and 16 mm designs.
Due to its slimness the FSV 6650 allows equipment and instrument manufacturers to pack more valves into the same space for greater functionality, or helps reduce laboratory costs by shrinking the size of the equipment or instrument.
The new flipper valve, with an optimised internal design, leads to a low internal volume and enables effective flushing of materials through the device, formerly known in rocker valves only.
This in essence increases the utilisation of the media used, eliminates the waste of expensive reagents as well as cross contamination and raises process safety.
The Burkert patented flipper technology is based on an elastomer element that moves between two opposite valve seats and opens or closes one of them.
The common port can be used as inlet to distribute to one of the valve seats or as mixer vice versa.
The FSV 6650 options include 2/2-way and 3/2-way configurations, as well as two different orifice sizes.
In combination with the 0.4mm orifice and the normally closed function it allows for a pressure rating up to 7 bar.
With body material PEEK and seals made of FFKM, the valve can be used for a wide range of aggressive fluids.
Furthermore the FSV 6650 provides IP65 protection, qualifying it even for rough environments.
The FSV 6650 is the perfect choice for valve applications requiring fast response times, high reproducibility, no pumping, and excellent flushing characteristics.
In order to achieve ultra short response times, the valve is designed to be controlled with booster electronics that is either available as a built-in circuit in the valve cable or can be integrated into the control electronics.
