Microfluidics improve low-volume liquid handling

A Burkert Fluid Control Systems product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 19, 2009

Burkert is offering Microfluidics components that improve low-volume liquid handling where aggressive reagents and solvents are used.

Microfluidic components include miniaturised sensors for the pressure, temperature and flow control needed to cope with the challenges of low-volume liquid handling.

Microfluidic components that make up the customised systems approach are characterised by their size (width per station 4.5mm) and their performance, with dosing rates down to a few nanolitres.

For continuous, reliable operation, Microfluidic components offer freedom from wear and tear, short response times, low power consumption, and an operating life of up to 108 valve cycles.

They provide a variety of body types, interchangability of components, modular systems with standard centre spacings and the facility for application-specific additional developments.

Burkert's MicroFluidics brochure highlights how automation and miniaturisation are coming together in integrated, customised fluidic systems that provide more advantages in critical Medical, Biomedical and Analytical fluid control applications.
