Advanced, environmentally friendly sealing systems for mobile off-road applications.

Extreme operational demands are placed on mobile off-road hydraulics sealing and bearing systems.

Often there is a requirement for the equipment to operate in extremes of dirt and temperature, with lengthy periods between servicing and maintenance.

Advances in sealing technology now enable off-road plant and equipment manufacturers to choose hydraulic systems which are capable of providing unfailing operation in the most extreme environments, with minimal maintenance and environmental compatibility.

Recently, Busak+Shamban developed a sealing system for mobile plant cylinder rams, to operate at a system pressure of 32 MPa.

The system needed to fit ISO compliant groves and provide a service life exceeding 10,000 hours.

Of equal importance, the manufacturer demanded environmental compatibility - zero fluid leakage and efficient operation using bio-oils.

Busak+Shamban engineers developed two compatible sealing systems for both the rod and piston.

Piston sealing comprised Turcon Glyd Ring with Luytex and Turcite Slydring and the rod system used Turcon Stepseal K and Zurcon Rimseal in tandem arrangement with Luytex and Turcite Slydring and double acting scraper Turcon Excluder 500.

The sealing system developed meets all design parameters and has proved unfailing in operating cycles exceeding 10,000 hours.
