Busak+Shamban Isolast Plus extends the perfluoroelastomer range of seal options and now includes an FDA compliant material.

The Busak+Shamban Isolast range of high performance perfluoroelastomer sealing solutions now includes an FDA compliant material.

Of particular interest to users and OEMs supplying the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, the product, known as Isolastplus, greatly reduces the risk of contamination.

Conventional seals are a primary cause of contamination through material degradation and a consequential loss in sealing integrity; Isolastplus overcomes this difficulty enabling process engineers to specify with confidence.

The new material formulation and FDA compliant seals are manufactured within Busak+Shamban1s own group resouces and offer the user advanced dynamic characteristics, high response rate and an ability to resist attack from the harshest media, including the severe cleansing materials commonly used in the chemical and processing industries.

The FDA compliant compound has a service temperature of -15 to +250C and a tensile strength of 11.7 MPa/mm2 with similar outstanding performance characteristics to those of the established Isolast range of perfluoroelastomer seals.
