Functions of the calculator include a sizing capability, recommendation on design parameters and complete measurements.
Results and comments may be printed or saved as a PDF.
The calculator considers the complexities of compression, seal expansion and groove fill, whilst enabling the user to add notes to the results.
The calculator provides certainty of design and substantial time savings.
Enhancements in the latest update include: design recommendations for a broader range of materials including perfluoroelastomers; warning messages when there are input errors or deviations from design recommendations; operating temperatures for elastomer groups take into account cross section changes; linear thermal expansion coefficients are included as preset values which can be overwritten; and design recommendations are available at the click of an i-button.
The O-ring calculator is available free of charge for on-line use on the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions website.
The recently redesigned site is online in 22 different country specific versions in 18 languages.
