Plastics seminar planned for London

The British Plastics Federation's Electrical Safety in the Plastics Workplace seminar aims to give attendees an overview of electricity regulations.

The British Plastics Federation (BPF) will hold a seminar on 'Electrical Safety in the Plastics Workplace', on 26th September 2007 at its London offices.

The seminar aims to give delegates an overview of the Electricity at Work Regulations and the recent additions to the 16th Edition Wiring Regulation together with preparations for the 17th Edition.

Furthermore, the seminar will provide a detailed assessment of the causes and dangers of static electricity, and provide detailed case studies as to how the problems associated with static can be ameliorated.

Experts from the plastics industry will give delegates the practical tools required to create and maintain an electrically safe working environment.

Ernie Walker, Former Senior Electrical Inspector HSE, will give an overview of the Electricity at Work Regulations.

Geoffrey Stokes of Benchmark Safety Technology will bec overing interpretations of earthing and bonding, including Guidance Note 8.

John Quick, of the Lowe group and NECTA, will be giving guidance for duty holders and Trevor Pimm, of Meech Static Eliminators, will be giving an overview of the causes and dangers of electrostatic discharge in plastics processing.
