Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 19, 2005

BOHS is organising a seminar, workshop and exhibition 'Control through ventilation: interpreting COSHH' to take place at the Vauxhall Motors Sports and Social Club, Ellesmere Port, on 9 November 2005.

The BOHS (British Occupational Hygiene Society) is organising a seminar, workshop and exhibition 'Control through ventilation: interpreting COSHH' to take place at the Vauxhall Motors Sports and Social Club, Ellesmere Port, from 12:30 to 16:30 on 9 November 2005.

Adequate control of exposure to substances in the workplace is often achieved through the use of ventilation, and local exhaust ventilation (LEV) is often regarded as the method of choice.

This hands-on seminar, workshop and exhibition aims to provide delegates with a basic understanding of ventilation systems and the key issues that surround them if they are to be designed, used and maintained to deliver adequate control.

There will be LEV testing equipment demonstrations and expert speakers, providing the opportunity to learn from practical experiences and discuss the best ways to control exposure with the experts.

This is a half-day programme, open to any health and safety professional with responsibilities for control of exposure to substances or testing systems.

Attendance may count towards Continuing Professional Development not just on BOHS's CPD scheme but on any organisations' schemes which are self-administered.

The full programme is available on the events calendar on the BOHS website, where visitors can now book on-line.

The cost, which includes VAT, lunch and refreshments, is £40 for BOHS members or £60 for non-members.
