BOHS's Autumn 'Hot Topics' Meeting will take place on Wednesday 4 October 2006 at the Manchester Conference Centre BOHS is delighted to announce a full day's programme of hot topics for its Autumn Meeting at the University of Manchester Conference Centre, including a presentation by Professor Julian Peto entitled "Observations and speculations on mesothelioma risks in relation to past and present occupational and environmental asbestos exposure in Britain"

Free brochure explains occupational hygiene
The British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) is publishing a new brochure targeted at all occupational health and safety professionals.
Other sessions will include the presentation of results and implications from a major survey on silica, by Paul Brough of the Health and Safety Laboratory; current perspectives on controlling substances in the UK, by Bud Hudspith of Amicus; controlling occupational exposure to avian flu, by Michael Paton of the Health and Safety Executive, and an update on recent changes to asbestos legislation in the UK.
Open to all, the meeting starts at 09.30 with registration, and will close at approximately 15.45 after a general discussion session.
It costs just £80 for BOHS members and £100 for non-members which includes VAT, lunch and refreshments, and can be booked on-line via the event calendar on the BOHS website, where the full programme is also available.
