A British Occupational Hygiene Society product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 7, 2007

The British Occupational Hygiene Society's (BOHS's) Annual Conference - Occupational Hygiene 2007 - takes place this year in Glasgow, from 17th to 19th April.

Highlights include the Warner Lecture by Professor Dame Carol Black, National Director for Health and Work, and keynote lectures by Dr Michelle Wyart-Remy of the Industrial Minerals Association, on respirable crystalline silica, and Professor Hans Kromhout of the University of Utrecht, on 'Making Sense of Within- and Between-Worker Exposure Variability'.

There is also a lecture from Dr Roel Vermeulen, the most recent Bedford Prize winner for his Annals paper on benzene exposure in Chinese shoe factories.

A series of interactive workshops running over all three days includes Faculty workshops, two on Bayesian tools and one on the new REACH regulations.

The associated exhibition, running alongside, presents a range of suppliers of services and equipment.

New for this year is a poster display allowing another format for presenting scientific work.

This conference brings together leading UK, European and international researchers, practitioners and regulators, with a varied three day programme covering all the major themes and emerging issues in occupational health and hygiene.

The professionally cosmopolitan environment of the Conference provides excellent scope to meet fellow hygienists and peers from related professions from all sectors of industry.

The Conference Dinner, followed this year by a ceilidh, is the social highlight, on the Wednesday night.
