New standards cover metal hardness tests
Existing standards for metal hardness tests are being revised and replaced by a new series.
Metals need to be rigorously tested for strength and hardness in order to conform to industry standards Current users of the Brinell, Rockwell and Vickers tests contained within BS EN ISO6506:1999, BS EN ISO6507:1998 or BS EN ISO6508:1999, should be aware that the existing standards for metal hardness tests are being revised and replaced by a new series
