New standards for pressure vessel
materials

BSI Business Information is promoting two standards relating to materials for pressure vessels.

BSI Business Information is promoting the following standards relating to pressure vessels BS EN 10217-7:2005 'Welded steel tubes for pressure purposes, Technical delivery conditions, Stainless steel tubes'

This part of BS EN 10217 specifies the technical delivery conditions in two test categories for welded tubes of circular cross-section made of austenitic and austenitic-ferritic stainless steel that are applied for pressure and corrosion resisting purposes at room temperature, at low temperatures or at elevated temperatures.

BS EN 10217-7:2005 also provides terms and definitions, symbols, classification and designation along with examples of orders and information on tube manufacture and delivery conditions.

BS EN 10217-7:2005 supersedes BS 3605-2:1992, which is withdrawn.

BS EN 10207:2005 'Steels for simple pressure vessels, Technical delivery requirements for plates, strips and bars'.

This standard specifies the technical delivery requirements for flat products and bars made of steel in accordance with the specifications for pressurised parts in simple pressure vessels as defined in the Essential Requirements of EU Directive for Simple Pressure Vessels 87/404/EEC and standardised in BS EN 286 Parts 1 to 3.

This document supersedes BS EN 10207:1991.
