British Standards has just published a new edition of BS3790, a full revision of the standard used by the power transmission industry.

This progression has received the full backing of interested parties including government, businesses and trade associations.
Coming at the end of 2006 will be BS 25999-1:2006 'Code of practice for business continuity management'.
The first part in the new BS 25999 series will establish the process, principles and terminology of BCM.
It will provide a basis for understanding, developing and implementing business continuity within an organization to provide confidence in business-to-business and business-to-customer dealings.
In addition, it will also provide a comprehensive set of controls based on BCM best practice and covers the whole BCM lifecycle.
