BSI revises screw thread standards

A BSI British Standards product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 15, 2008

BSI has revised its suite of screw thread standards - for Whitworth parallel form, ISO metric screw threads and Unified form.

The British Association (BA) screw thread specification is the final standard to be revised in the series.

BS 93 specifies limits of sizes, and tolerances, for single start parallel screw threads of British Association (BA) form.

Fully revised to bring it up to date, the standard specifies the BA system of screw threads, which comprises 17 graded metric sizes designated by the numbers 0 to 16.

Approximate inch equivalents are also given.
