Lead-acid batteries find new outlets

Commenting on the new agreements, Andy Hatter, Camden's managing director said: "We are very pleased to have concluded these agreements which we are confident will result in greater market penetration for the Europa Plus family of batteries in general and the unique Powerstation charger product in particular".
The BEL06/PS Powerstation is an innovative charger unit designed specially for use with Europa Plus BEL060040S PJ996-style rechargeable 6V 4Ah sealed lead acid lantern batteries.
The CE-approved BEL06/PS Powerstation charger is supplied complete with a fitted 13A mains plug and is capable of holding and charging two PJ996-style sealed lead acid lantern batteries simultaneously.
Features include an overcharge protection circuit and red and green LEDs to indicate power and charging respectively.
With no leads to attach, the charger is extremely simple to operate.
The user just opens the top cover of the charger, inserts one or two BEL060040S batteries and closes the top cover again to begin the charging process.
The red LED lights to show AC mains is connected while the green LED indicates that the batteries are being charged.
When battery capacity reaches 80% of full charge, the green LED turns off.
Camden's PJ996-style sealed lead acid lantern batteries are ideal for use in a wide range of applications from agriculture, communications and radio equipment, through perimeter fencing, emergency lighting systems and marine equipment to portable lighting, solar powered systems, lanterns, models and toys.
