Cambridge Control becomes The MathWorks
Cambridge Control, the software supplier and engineering consultancy, is to change its name to The MathWorks Ltd and plans to accelerate the expansion of its Cambridge-based team of consultants
Cambridge Control, the leading software supplier and engineering consultancy, is to change its name to The MathWorks Ltd with immediate effect The company, which was acquired by The MathWorks Inc (of Natick, Massachusetts) in October 1997, will continue to operate from its British headquarters in Cambridge, from where it spearheads all UK sales and marketing of The MathWorks' software products

The change of name reflects The MathWorks' growing international presence.
The company, which recently opened fully owned subsidiaries in France, Germany and Spain, is consolidating its global brand in order to reinforce its leadership in the technical computing market.
MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow and the associated tools have long been recognised as the world's leading technical computing software.
Cambridge Control has distributed The MathWorks' products since 1988, just four years after it was established as a world-class engineering consultancy.
It became a wholly owned subsidiary of The MathWorks in October 1997.
The UK operation has made a significant contribution to the success of the whole company over the past few years.
In recognition of this, Sham Ahmed continues as managing director, and is also a member of the EMT (Executive Management Team) of The Mathworks Inc.
"The Cambridge operation is key to our European expansion, in a prime position to take advantage of the UK's dynamic scientific and engineering community," Mr Ahmed says.
"In rebranding the company with The MathWorks' name, we aim to consolidate our presence in Europe and to capitalise on the exceptional standard of excellence offered by the Cambridge-based consultancy service.
Reflecting this, we have opened a Website dedicated to the work of our consultants.
This will make information available to people throughout the world on the technical breakthroughs that can be achieved by using The MathWorks' software and The MathWorks' Cambridge Consulting Group.".
