MathWorks has announced the publication of the one thousandth book sponsored by its Book Programme.

MathWorks has announced the publication of the one thousandth book sponsored by its Book Programme, which partners with leading publishers and authors in academia and industry to develop books based on Matlab and Simulink.

The growth of The MathWorks Book Programme reflects the widespread adoption of Matlab and Simulink.

More than one million engineers and scientists, including researchers, instructors and students, at more than 3500 universities worldwide, use MathWorks products for technical computation, visualisation, programming, modelling and simulation.

Initially focused on linear algebra or advanced research, these books now span a broad range of topics, including computational biology, signal processing, control systems, image processing and financial engineering.

The collection supports every educational level, from a freshmen survey course to professional reference and includes books from 26 languages.

Over half of the books come with companion software that facilitates learning.

"Since the company's inception, The MathWorks has been committed to preparing the engineers and scientists of tomorrow for technology careers through fellowships, mentoring activities and sponsorship of engineering competitions", said Cleve Moler, Chief Scientist at The MathWorks and creator of Matlab.

"The Book Programme upholds this tradition with an expanding body of knowledge that represents contributions from publishers, authors and the academic community".

"By providing application examples, interactive exercises and practical product experience married to theory, these books represent a significant resource for educators".
