After reviewing other systems the founders of A and M EDM came to the conclusion that SolidCut could still meet all their needs.
CADCAM software adds extra dimension to art
British sculptor Alastair Mackie used Camtek's PEPS SolidCut five-axis CADCAM software to produce his latest work entitled "Bipolar".
He began his manufacturing career by serving an apprenticeship and going on to employment as a toolmaker at a leading precision pressing and moulding manufacturer, Presswork Metals in Co Durham.
His experience also includes roles in educational and training establishments, delivering hands-on CADCAM and CNC machine operations tuition to both UK and overseas students.
Commented Terry Antrobus, Director of Sales and Marketing: "Bob had the ideal credentials for the Camtek team".
"His toolmaking experience and in-depth knowledge of the core technologies that our software drives are fundamental to understanding each customer's particular requirements".
"I am sure that the combination of Bob's technical experience, enthusiasm for CNC and CADCAM and our technical approach to selling our systems will help our customers to successfully implement effective CADCAM solutions based around our PEPS SolidCut solutions".
Added Metcalfe: "In my previous role I had used and recommended PEPS, so it felt like a natural progression when the opportunity to work for Camtek arose".
"Having worked both sides of the fence I understand exactly what users are looking for".
The move coincides with the recent launch of the PEPS 5.3 CADCAM suite of software, delivering a number of significant enhancements across the broad range of applications technologies available with PEPS.
