Transducer monitors pedal force

A Caesar Datasystems product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 23, 2007

The RS2430 pedal force transducer measures brake application forces regardless of the angle or position of the driver's foot.

The model RS2430 pedal force transducer is a rugged, lightweight transducer, for accurately measuring brake and clutch pedal effort in automotive, truck and heavy truck research, testing and vehicle development applications.

The compact, low-profile unit measures brake application forces regardless of the angle or position of the driver's foot.

A one-piece flexure design isolates the measuring section from the mounting base, achieving high linearity and low hysteresis.

Installation forces and variations in geometry of the pedal on which the transducer is mounted have no effect on transducer accuracy.

Two measurement ranges of 2200N and 1300N full-scale, with a 150% overload factor, are available.

The RS2430 is supplied complete with a mounting plate and 3m long Tensolite armoured cable for easy installation.
