The Katana 150 industrial terminal PC combines the three functional parts of a PC, computer, monitor and keyboard/mouse, into a robust, highly integrated and compact system.

Featuring a powerful Pentium III processor, an integral high brightness 15in LCD, stylish membrane keyboard and integral mouse pad, the Katana is ideally suited to automation applications where a robust, compact unit is required, capable of withstanding the rigours of a shop-floor environment.

The most striking feature of the latest Katana model is the high brightness 15in LCD TFT display.

Incorporating the latest in smart LCD panel technologies with four backlight lamps and optimised inverter delivering exceptionally high brightness with display resolution of 1024 x 768.

User controls allow custom adjustments including brightness, contrast and power management.

A toughened 3mm polycarbonate window further protects the display and provides an antiglare surface to enhance visibility by reducing reflections from background lighting.

A fully sealed membrane keyboard provides all the PC keyboard functions in a compact and elegant qwerty layout.

Switch technology combined with pillow embossing provides positive tactile feel with long term reliability of over 10 million key presses.

Integral with the keyboard is the latest Glidepoint mouse technology offering a sensitive and highly effective mouse pad for effortless navigation.

Integral finger tap detection for mouse buttons, ease operation and speed of use.

To cater for the rigours of industrial applications, the hard disk drive is fitted in a highly tuned anti shock/vibration cradle to provide protection from oscillating machinery and shock.

This highly effective mechanism has been tested at the TUV laboratories operational at up 3g of vibration while reading and writing to the disk drive.

Ease of cabling has been provided with a choice of rear access, allowing direct cabling through the panel, or base entry via three 20mm glands.

Furthermore, to maintain tidy and unobtrusive cabling the connectors are hidden behind a removable protective front cover plate, further ensuring cables cannot be disconnected accidentally.

The Katana comes equipped with a powerful, yet low power, 533MHz (or optional 800MHz) VIA Pentium III compatible processor, capable of running all Windows (98, Me, NT, 2000 and XP) and Linux operating systems.

A multitude of connectivity ports are provided as standard, including 10/100Mbit/s Ethernet, dual USB, parallel and serial ports.

Should any additional functionality be required, one PCI expansion slot is available for a plug-in expansion card.
