Carlo Gavazzi has launched a new range of photo sensors in M18 housings, significantly lower in price thanks to the use of rugged plastic bodies rather than metal

Carlo Gavazzi has launched a new range of low cost photo sensors in M18 housings The new models are significantly lower in price thanks to the use of rugged plastic bodies rather than metal - indeed, the diffuse reflective versions start from a remarkably low price of £28.00

The new range covers the same sensing distances and specifications of the previous equivalents.

Also, because production volumes have risen, the prices of the existing metal body sensors have also been reduced.

The new plastic bodied family consists of diffuse and retro-reflective models including units for polarised light and through beam sensing.

Diffused units come in 100, 200 or 400mm ranges with fixed sensitivity and a 400mm version with adjustable sensitivity.

The retro-reflective sensors have a range of 3m and the polarised retro-reflectives have a sensing distance of 2m.

Through beam sensors are stand alone and have a 10m range.

There is a wide choice of outputs; DC NPN or PNP with open and closed function outputs and AC multivoltage from 20 - 265 V available in either open or closed versions with 500mA load.

DC versions of the sensors are available with a 10 - 40VDC voltage range and 200mA load, with short circuit and reverse polarity protection.

All the new sensors are supplied with wide plastic fixing nuts for easy installation by hand or using a spanner.

The range carries approvals to global standards and also has CE certification.

Along with the new M18 range, Carlo Gavazzi has introduced accessories that include a low cost right angle beam conversion kit and an aperture reduction kit for through beam sensors to ensure accurate detection of small objects.
