With the new Dupline Data Access software package, it now becomes easy to access Dupline Fieldbus data from PC programs and development tools.

The package consists of a DDE Server and an ActiveX driver for the Dupline Master Channel Generator.

The Dupline DDE Server provides a user-friendly Dynamic Data Exchange interface, which can be used from applications that support client side DDE such as Microsoft Excel.

Getting dynamic digital, analog or counter data into cells in an Excel spreadsheet is simply a question of selecting the desired Dupline data in the DDE and then copy and pasting them into the spreadsheet.

This can be used in Energy Monitoring applications where pulse counts from energy meters need to be processed and presented on a PC using EXCEL.

The Dupline ActiveX Driver provides an ActiveX interface, which is a Microsoft standard for communication between two applications.

The driver can be used from any development tool that supports client side ActiveX such as Microsoft's Visual Basic and Borland C++ Builder.

The communication between the driver and the user application is event-driven, and it can read any type of Dupline data and control digital outputs, either as pulse or steady state.

Using the ActiveX driver makes it easy for programmers to develop custom applications that communicate with the Dupline Master Generator.
