New level and proximity sensors suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres are now available from Carlo Gavazzi.

Carlo Gavazzi's new EX magnetic sensor series meets the stringent requirements of the ATEX Directive 94/9/EC, which covers equipment used in fixed offshore platforms, petrochemical plants, mines, flour mills and other areas where a potentially explosive atmosphere may be present.

EX proximity magnetic sensors feature a miniature rectangular option with a plastic body and the choice of NO, NC or changeover output functions.

In addition, a cylindrical option with full stainless steel body is available.

A protective metallic sheath or shielded halogen free and flame retardant cable complement the range.

The EX range also includes vertical float level sensors with AISI 316 stainless-steel body and the option of spherical of cylindrical float to suit a wide range of applications.

Offered with the option of NO, NC or changeover output functions, these level sensors are available in a number of power ratings.

Additional sensors approved for safety devices and essential components for safe use as specified by the ATEX Directive are also available from Carlo Gavazzi.
