By logging onto the server, users can access the data as overviews, trend curves or histograms from any PC connected to the Internet.
Hence there is no need to invest in new IT equipment to use the system.
Users can also choose to have automatic alerts sent from the central server via SMS to a nominated cellular handset if preset limits are breached or an event occurs.
Users can also issue control commands via the Dupline Online server.
Dupline Online complements the extensive Carlo Gavazzi Dupline product range, which also includes digital and analogue I/O modules, PLC and PC interfaces, HMIs and modems.
Together with the two-wire Dupline bus, these enable multiple digital and analogue signals to be transmitted over several kilometres to support event monitoring and process control for a wide range of applications.
These include building automation, water distribution, energy management, railway systems and many other areas.
By creating a turnkey solution for collection and management of data generated by processes occurring at remote sites Dupline Online now eliminates the cost, design effort and risk of implementing a custom infrastructure.
Customers can now conveniently access data using a standard ADSL or dial-up connection from an ordinary desktop PC.
In addition to the inherent scalability of Dupline networks, Dupline Online also now allows enhancement of existing Dupline installations to provide easy access to process or event data, dependent only on the availability of an Internet or cellular telecom network connection.
New Dupline implementations can be conceived from the outset to provide secure data access via a standard web browser.
