Caltest Instruments has developed a new lightweight, compact, rugged, portable multifunction calibrator for use on or off site.

Caltest Instruments has developed a new lightweight, compact, rugged, portable multifunction calibrator for use on or off site.

The calibrator is designed to give simultaneous, or separate generation and measurement for accurate and easy transducer/transmitter calibration, with one year accuracy of 0.01C or 0.012%.

Designated the Calys 50 it allows the following physical values to be measured and simulated: voltage, current, resistance, temperature by resistive probes, thermocouples and frequency signals (active and dry contact).

Powered by rechargeable NiMH batteries (8 hour minimum operating), the Calys 50 can operate as a transmitter, and is able to perform scaling of process signals, and so correct for the calibrated errors of temperature probes.

Ten user entered test setup configurations can be stored and recalled to speed up repetitive work.

An easy to view backlit, high contrast LCD display and a new quick connection system with low thermal EMF and cold junction compensation is built in.

This innovative product is designed primarily for the process and pharmaceutical industries, but has many applications in the electronics, engineering and manufacturing industries.
