Cockburn Thermal Imaging was recently contacted by a landfill waste site to ask if its thermal imaging technology could identify heat pockets in a waste site.

Cockburn Thermal Imaging was recently contacted by a landfill waste site to ask if its thermal imaging technology could identify heat pockets in a waste site.

With such a large area to survey, Cockburn suggested that it should develop an airborne system to cover the large area of land.

In conjunction with a local light aircraft company, Cockburn Thermal Imaging was able to mount its thermal imaging camera to the side of the aircraft, and take video streamed images of the whole site, locating immediately any areas of concern.

The resultant footage was copied onto real time video CD with voice over, and individual snapshots were analysed and provided as a hard copy report.
