At the recent Maintec 2003 maintenance exhibition Cockburn Thermal Imaging focused on applications of its patented CTI Cyclops thermographic inspection window.

Visitors saw a real-time demonstration of the company's infra-red sightglasses with one of Cockburn's specially designed demonstration units.

The unit was set up, complete with a "dummy" electrical fault, inside the purpose-built piece of electrical switchgear.

The switchgear was fitted with CTI Cyclops inspection windows, and through those windows the tripod-mounted Flir thermal imaging camera provided real-time imaging, detecting the switchgear's apparent fault.

All this was apparent to passers by as the camera's image was projected onto a large-screen TV.
