Hawk IR International has launched its Infra-red Safety Centre (ISC) devoted to the training and certification of infra-red thermographers operating within explosive atmospheres ISC incorporates COMPEX, DSEAR and ATEX modules within a Level 1 HazEx course in addition to infra-red training techniques developed to increase thermographer awareness and competency

"Infra-red inspection within an explosive atmosphere requires a new way of thinking", explains Tony Holliday, Director of Sales for Hawk IR International.

"Even seemingly inconsequential changes to explosive area equipment can have explosive results".

"Something simple such as increasing the emissivity of a target - a common practice in safe areas - can cause an explosion if an incorrect coating is used".

"HazEx Thermography training increases the knowledge and competency of infra-red thermographers enabling them to operate safely and effectively within explosive areas", concludes Tony.

ISC will provide HazEx Thermography training for trained safe area thermographers and newcomers alike.

The five-day HazEx training course incorporates 50% safety and 50% thermography with two independent exams.

Successful students will awarded HazEx Thermography Certification along with ATEX Competent Person status.

Certification is issued by a notified body. Request free introductory details about products from Hawk IR International ...
