PLC Link Server remotely manages PLCs over network
Contec Microelectronics Europe has introduced a PLC Link Server. It is designed to allow a networked computer to obtain and update the internal register information of Mitsubishi MELSEC-Q PLCs.
An innovative passive cooling system is employed, rather than a conventional fan, and this helps to keep the IPC-PT/x630 series compact, extremely quiet and highly reliable (the only moving part is in the 2.5in EIDE hard disk drive).
Each PC comes equipped with a low power Pentium-III 800MHz CPU which uses an Intel 815E chipset with integrated 4Mbyte 2D/3D video acceleration.
A special, built-in, CD-ROM interface and 3D audio is also featured in addition to complete with the AC97 standard.
The IPC-PT series is designed with two, optional, expansion slots for PCI cards, two USB ports, LAN and PC card interfaces.
With these expansion capabilities, the IPC-PT/x630 series not only functions as an HMI, but also as a computing centre around which to build a complete application.
