The ability to read Unigraphics data from within Pro/Engineer and utilize it in a modeling session also means that contract manufacturers and other Pro/Engineer users can achieve dramatic savings by eliminating the need to purchase a Unigraphics license.
Offered by Compunix and Cimsoftek, two leading producers of CAD translators, the Cadcam-E.Com website delivers interoperability solutions to the user's desktop over the web.
The user simply registers for the service and downloads the translation software and installs it on their desktop.
The security of design data is assured, as data never leaves user's desktop.
Running the conversion application on the desktop also provides the fastest conversion speed.
