specialist
Cadcam-E has announced that Emery Szmrecsanyi will be putting his many years experience in CAD data conversion and exchange to work for the company as Technical Advisor.
Cadcam-E has announced that Emery Szmrecsanyi will be putting his many years experience in CAD data conversion and exchange to work for the company as Technical Advisor His primary responsibility will be serving as a liaison with the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) and other organizations involved in setting standards for product data exchange
"Emery will play a key role in stepping up our two-way communications with key standard-setting bodies such as AIAG in order to help ensure that our translation services remain compatible with the latest industry standards and to provide input that can help improve emerging standards," said Vinay Wagle, President of Cadcam-E.
Emery Szmrecsanyi holds a bachelors degree from Creighton University and a Masters degree from Marquette University, both with majors in mathematics.
He spent the last 32 years at DaimlerChrysler where from 1985 to 2001 he managed teams with various responsibilities including surfacing development, application software development and support, CAD data exchange and translation support both in-house and with suppliers and CAD data quality standardization.
He saw the need for Chrysler to take an active role in the standards development process and consequently became involved with AIAG, the IGES/PDES Organization (IPO) and the US Technical Advisory Group for STEP.
He also represented his corporation on the Board of Directors of the US Product Data Organization (US PRO).
Cadcam-E's web site delivers interoperability solutions to the user's desktop over the web eliminating the need for subcontractors to purchase a high-end CAD license or conversion software.
The user simply registers for the service, downloads the translation software and installs it on their desktop.
The pay-per-use approach pioneered by Cadcam-E fits the subcontracting model well because the cost of the translation can usually be charged to the customer's project.
There's no need to upload confidential data to the web site and running the conversion application on the desktop provides the fastest conversion speed.
Cadcam-E offers conversion solutions between Pro/Engineer, Catia, Unigraphics, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Mastercam, Mechanical Desktop, Surfcam and Varimetrix systems and Parasolid, ACIS, IGES and STEP formats.
Cadcam-E also offers a wide range of services targeted at engineering and manufacturing organizations as well as independent software vendors.
The company's engineers can economically perform translations, particularly those involving feature-based solids, that can't be cost-effectively automated.
They can also provide legacy data conversion, 3D design and drafting, computer-aided engineering, manufacturability studies, data conversion and distribution to the supply chain and the development of web-based engineering applications.
The company also offers licensable components for reading and writing CAD files independent of the CAD systems that created them.
These components can be embedded in software packages to provide seamless interoperability with most any CAD system.
The company also provides custom programming to customer specifications.
