Cedip Infrared Systems has been placed 28th in an annual survey of the top 100 fastest growing French companies.

To gain a position in the 2003 list, organised by leading business magazine Entreprendre, the qualifying criteria were that companies should have a turnover greater than Eur 5 million and have achieved a growth over the last three years of greater than 25%.

The companies were then sorted according to their earnings before interest and tax (EBIT).

Cedip gained its position in the 2003 list based upon its 2002 results.

On the back of considerable investment in new product development, high technology manufacturing facilities and customer facing staff Cedip reported sales to have increased by 77% and profit by 80% when comparing 2002 with 2001.

Expanding sales for both commercial and defence applications reflected the strong international impact of the high performance Jade family of IR cameras.

In 2002 approximately 80% of sales were exported.

Cedip has subsequently revealed that continuing international business growth and a strong programme of new product introductions should lead to a further 40% growth in 2003 sales.
