Cedip Infrared Systems will showcase its latest products at the forthcoming SPIE Defense and Security Symposium in Orlando, USA (12th-6th April 2004).

On Booth 825 Cedip will introduce a revolutionary new high-performance IR camera for defence and security applications.

Silver is a new generation of IR camera based on high-performance cooled focal plane array detectors.

The Silver camera offers fast frame rates up to 400 images per second in full frame and several tens of kilohertz in subwindowing mode, while offering high sensitivity of less than 20mK.

With portability and ease of use in mind the Silver incorporates an innovative compact optical design with a built-in motorised focusing mechanism.

For the harsh environmental conditions that are found in many outdoor surveillance applications a new ruggedised and weatherproof version of the Jade Long Range camera will be on show.

Based around a novel trifocal design the Jade LR uses motorised lenses to provide optimal detection or recognition capabilities at distances ranging from 5 to 25km.

At the meeting visitors will also be able to see and discuss Cedip's handheld Ruby night-vision camera.

Using the latest uncooled focal plane array technology, operating in the 8-12um waveband, the Ruby offers a thermal sensitivity of less than 80mK meaning an intruder can be detected at a typical range of 1km.

Small and lightweight in design the operational utility of the Ruby is aided by binocular viewing and leading edge image clarity provided by proprietary image processing algorithms.
