Cedip Infrared Systems has a new range of motorised focus lens for its Jade UC family of uncooled IR cameras.

Cedip Infrared Systems has a new range of motorised focus lens for its Jade UC family of uncooled IR cameras.

The new motorised lens functionality allows extremely reliable and reproducible control of camera focusing from PC software or from an external controller.

Integrating novel miniaturised motor and temperature sensors as part of the bayonet mounted lens assembly means that the lenses can be easily removed or exchanged on the Jade UC.

The new technology of miniaturised focus control offers extreme reliability and reproductibility in setting the lens to a given position.

This innovative feature will be extremely valuable for customers looking to make fixed point inspection measurement where the camera is installed in a pan and tilt platform.

Auto focus algorithms have also been implemented into the camera electronics allowing fast and accurate image focus.

The 60 and 25mm focal length lenses are now available with the Jade UC motorised focus option.

Benefiting from a sensitive microbolometer focal plane array sensor the Jade UC infrared camera is able to offer high sensitivity, low response time and good image resolution at a truly low price.

Using a focal plane sensor of 320 x 240 pixel, operating in the 8-12um waveband, the Jade UC camera offers best-of-class performance with thermal sensitivity of less than 80mK and a thermal response time of less than 4ms.

Operating at up to 100 frames per second at full image, with output digitised over a complete 14bit dynamic range the Jade UC provides the resolution to detect even the smallest area of defect or nonuniformity.

Packaged in a sealed unit the robust Jade UC offers IP54 standard protection against the ingress of rain and humidity.

This makes it the perfect IR camera for automation and machine vision applications including paper production, glass inspection, food processing and plastics manufacturing.
