Thermal IR imaging products attract much interest

At the recent Defense Systems and Equipment International (DSEI) exhibition, held in London, UK, Cedip Infrared Systems reported high visitor traffic drawn by its range of thermal IR imaging products.

At the recent Defense Systems and Equipment International (DSEI) exhibition, held in London, UK, Cedip Infrared Systems reported high visitor traffic drawn by its range of thermal IR imaging products.

Marking its global debut at DSEI - Pharos - a high-resolution multi-sensor platform, drew consistent attention from visitors interested in short-to-medium range day/night surveillance applications.

Pharos features an uncooled microbolometer thermal imager (nighttime), a CCD camera (daytime) and an optional 2500m laser range finder - all integrated on a pan and tilt platform.

This makes it an ideal ground or vehicle mounted surveillance system for sensitive sites such as harbours, borders, airports or industrial production facilities.

Particular interest was also shown in the Jade UC family of uncooled IR cameras.

Benefiting from a sensitive microbolometer focal plane array sensor the Jade UC infrared camera is able to offer high sensitivity, low response time and good image resolution at a truly low price.

Using a focal plane sensor of 320 x 240 pixels, operating in the 8-12um waveband, the camera offers best-of-class performance with thermal sensitivity of less than 80mk and a thermal response time of less than 4 ms.

Other products on show included the new 4th generation Jade camera range, the popular Ruby IR night vision camera and the Emerald LR camera for long-range detection and surveillance applications.
