Group rewards excellence in CFD
In order to stimulate research in the area of computational fluid dynamics, the CD Adapco Group has a new awards scheme to recognise outstanding academic work in the field.
In order to stimulate research in the area of computational fluid dynamics, the CD Adapco Group has a new awards scheme to recognise outstanding academic work in the field Prizes will be awarded to three authors of PhD theses who have made important and original contributions in the field of numerical techniques or physical models aimed at the simulation of fluid flow, heat and mass transfer and related processes

In addition to receiving a special diploma and the opportunity to present their papers at one of CD Adapco's user conferences, the three winners will also receive cash prizes: first place US $5000, second $2000 and $1000.
Dr Michael Dickens, Business Development Manager for the CD Adapco Group said: "CFD, as implemented in codes such as STAR-CD provides a huge benefit to industry.
We want to reward those researchers who really are driving our knowledge of the subject in new and interesting directions".
Entries are being accepted from candidates worldwide.
Theses can be up to two years old and the deadline for entry is 1st September 2002.
The winners will be announced at the European STAR-CD user conference in November.
