CD-adapco will be releasing a new version of Star-Cat5 integrated within the Catia V5 PLM environment at the upcoming ECF 2006.

CD-adapco will be releasing a new version of Star-Cat5 integrated within the Catia V5 PLM environment at the upcoming ECF 2006 (Paris, France 7th to 9th November 2006).

CD-adapco staff will be performing interactive demonstrations of Star-Cat5 at Stand 11 throughout the event.

Star-Cat5 v4.10 is the latest version of the industry leading CAD and PLM-embedded simulation tool that enables engineers and designers to perform industrial strength computational fluid dynamics (CFD) calculations from within the comfort of their preferred PLM environment.

In today's highly competitive industry, upfront simulation has become a competitive necessity, allowing users to confirm design assumptions and predict product performance early in the design process.

Star-Cat5 is part of the Star-CAD Series, a range of tools that have been created specifically to enable engineers and designers to undertake flow simulation, even if they are lacking experience in traditional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis.

Full associativity ensures that any design changes made to your model are reflected in the flow simulation at the click of a button, making CFD solution part of the design process.

Usability of the products is increased with the introduction of a step-by-step process that guides users through the key stages in setting up and running a simulation.

The introduction of a model-checker guarantees that validity and quality of a model prior to simulation, and provides helpful advice to rectify user omissions, should they occur.

Star-Cat5 is used to solve a wide variety of engineering applications and industries.

It handles both internal and external fluid flows including conjugate heat transfer problems, rotating machines and porous media.

Among the targeted applications, one can find: flow equipment (pumps, nozzles, valves, and compressors); fans and propellers; heat exchangers; household devices (ovens, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners); electronic cooling; ventilation in rooms; HVAC ducts of automotive climate control systems; and vehicle aerodynamics and hydrodynamics.
